Jeremy Bourque was just 15 years old
when he was diagnosed with epilepsy. He has had seizures that have sent
him to the hospital at least 10 times since he was 12 years old.
Jeremy has taken dozens of
prescription medications throughout the years that have altered his health and
quality of life. At 18 he started experimenting with cannabis and realized that
his quality of life and his health had major improvements. With the cannabis he
noticed that he needed less medications, and he felt better and was able to
accomplish more then he was able to when taking more dosages of prescription
medications.
Although Texas does not have medicinal cannabis legislation in place, Jeremy began growing his own low THC, high CBD strain of cannabis. This strain became his miracle alternative treatment to his debilitating illness that could otherwise cause brain damage and other serious side-effects, including death. Jeremy had found his key to living a healthy life.

On April 7th, 2014, law
enforcement came into Jeremy’s home and seized his medicine. Two months later,
Jeremy was charged with cannabis cultivation. He is now facing criminal charges
and is currently back on the prescription medications that had failed for years
to sufficiently curb his seizures.
Jeremy is a 38 year old lifetime resident of Jefferson County and is an otherwise law abiding citizen. We are raising money to help pay for the Neurological Expert that his Attorney is acquiring to help prove in a court of law, that medical marijuana has medicinal benefits for patients with epilepsy. This would be the first case of its kind in Southeast Texas and will determine how patients are prosecuted in the future.
